Maharaj Sri Nagendra Singh (18 March 1914 – 11 December 1988) was an Indian lawyer and administrator who served as President of the International Court of Justice from 1985 to 1988. He was one of the four judges from India to have been Judges of the International Court of Justice in The Hague, 

First Indian to Get Bharat Ratna Award --Dr.S.Radhakrishnan

He was awarded the Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian award, in 1954. Dr Radhakrishnan became India's second President in 1962 and his birthday has been celebrated as Teachers' Day in the country since then. He died on May 13, 1967.
Radhakrishnan was awarded several high awards during his life, including a knighthood in 1931, the Bharat Ratna, the highest civilian award in India, in 1954, and honorary membership of the British Royal Order of Merit in 1963.
